Hi Team,

My customer need 2 channel SPI MUX to control two SPI flash.

But due to their MCU driver capability is small, so they ask MUX+buffer capability, could you advise?

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately analog multiplexers, like the TS3A5017-Q1 - do not have drive abilities. We make passive switches which essentially are just the logic and FET switch. At this time we don't offer a combined buffer / Mux solution.

However parts like the TS3A5017-Q1 or the TMUX1309-Q1 can still be used as the switch in the system they just require an external buffer. I am not a Buffer expert, but we do have a few choices located here as well, and if you have any more questions I am sure the people on buffer questions on E2E will be sure to help you out!

One input and two outputs per channel? Should the unselected outputs be Hi-Z, or driven low, or high?

I draw one block diagram to explain what customer needs. as for unselected output config. customer doesn't have opinion.

The most important for them is big driver capability necessary.

So the two "EP" things are SPI masters, and the flash is the slave? This would imply three signals (clock, MOSI, chip select) from the master to the slave, and one signal (MISO) from the slave to the master. Or are you using another form of SPI?

Is the flash chip's driver capability large enough, or do you also need a buffer for the MISO line?

What voltage? 3.3 V? And -Q1 is required?

It might be possible to combine a SN74LVC125A-Q1 and a SN74LVC126A-Q1; will all OE pins controlled by the same signal, only one chip's outputs will be enabled.

Hi Paul,

As Clemens mentioned there are some buffered parts that may work. However our generic Multiplexer portfolio does not have any IC's that have drive ability - they are passive FET.
