Is TS5A22366 best fit for bidirectional 1:4 mux/demux?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A22366, TS3DS10224

Team,

My customer is looking for a bidirectional 1:4 mux/demux.

I’m noticing we only have dual 1:4 devices, they want a single that can do 1:4 and handle bidirectional signals.

I’m thinking they could do a dual 1:2 and just run 2 separate enable lines, and the only part I found that might be able to do this is ts5a22366.

Problem is I didn’t see anywhere in the d/s that it can handle bidirectional signals so I wanted to confirm.

Voltage level is ~3.3V and they need more than 1MHz of BW. Not sure if this part can handle this either.

Please let me know your thoughts on if this part will work, or any other configuration ideas you have.

Thanks!

Kevin

  • Kevin,

What do you think about the TS3DS10224 as a bi-directional, single channel, 3.3 V, 1:4 mux/demux that can handle 1MHz signals.

The TS5A22366 is a bidirectional switch and we will make a note to add in that verbiage.  The TS5A22366 can also handle 3.3 V signals @ 1Mhz as seen on page 8 of the datasheet.  You could tie the COM1 and COM2 pins together to have a single input toggle between 4 different outputs but you will always have the signal going through paths at a time which wouldn't happen in a true 1:4 mux.  I would recommend we look at other devices like the one above.

    Thank you,

    Adam
