SN74CBTLV3126: SN74CBTLV3126 bandwidth and Ron parameter

Part Number: SN74CBTLV3126
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74CBTLV3125, TMUX1511

Hi,

1) I don't see a bandwidth parameter inthe SN74CBTLV3126 datasheet. I'm considering to use it for 50MHz signals. Please, advise.

2) Ron parameter - I see it depends on Vi and Ii - may be you have the Ron vs. Vi and Ron vs. Ii graphs for this device

Thank you,

Youry

  • The bandwidth is listed on the product page and in the search function. 200 MHz should be enough.

This switch uses transmission gates, so the resistance is smallest when the signal voltage is near GND or VCC. For digital signals, this is always the case; you do not really need to care about other VI values. Please note that different currents do not actually result in different resistances.

The application report Selecting the Right Texas Instruments Signal Switch has this (3125 and 3126 are pretty much identical):

  • Hi Youry,

Clemens is correct. The bandwidth is listed on the product page as 200 MHz. Both SN74CBTLV3125 and SN74CBTLV3126 are from the same family.

On page 48 in the Selecting the Right Texas Instruments Signal Switch Application Report, it has the SN74CBTLV3125 graphs that you are looking for. Below is a diagram of a simplified transmission gate and a graph displaying how Ron varies with input voltage. Check out our video, TI Precision Labs - Switches and Muxes: On-Resistance Flatness and On-Capacitance.

Take a look at the TMUX1511 which that supports 3-GHz bandwidth, 2-Ω RON, and 1.8-V logic support and is exact equivalent in functionality to the SN74CBTLV3126.

    Best Regards,
    Jon
