TMUX1308-Q1: How does the common pin capacitance compare from TMUX1308-Q1 to SN74LV4051-Q1?

Part Number: TMUX1308-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LV4051A, , SN74LV4051A-Q1, TMUX1308

E2E,

How does the common pin capacitance of TMUX1308-Q1 compare to SN74LV4051A-Q1? The capacitance is the biggest source of error with the SN74LV4051-Q1 for us today. Will using the TMUX1308-Q1 solve my issue? It’s hard to compare this since SN74LV4051A doesn’t provide a max value.

The TMUX1308-Q1 provides a lower typical capacitance spec than the 4051 but a higher max value than the 4051.

What is the max capacitance spec of the SN74LV4051A-Q1.

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hey Adam,

You're right in your assessment that we did not spec out the max common capacitance in the SN74LV4051A, so comparing is tricky.

My initial feeling is that since the TMUX1308-Q1 has a lower typical capacitance than the SN74LV4051A-Q1, that correlation would translate to the max value as well. That is to say that TMUX1308-Q1 probably has a lower common pin capacitance than the SN74LV4051A-Q1. Additionally, we see that the SN74LV4051A-Q1 part has a lower On-Resistance than the TMUX1308. The relationship between On-Capacitance (Con) and On-Resistance (Ron) is inversely correlated. Meaning as one of these two values goes higher, we'll typically see the other become lower.
