CCS/AWR1642BOOST: How to get the power consumption waveform of AWR1642 and PMIC by CCS?

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, ENERGYTRACE, TMDSEMU110-ETH, TMDSEMU110-U

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Dear support team

Does it is possible to get the power consumption of AWR1642 and PMIC by the CCS?

If it is possible, please tell me how to do this.

If it is not possible, please tell me another method to get power consumption of AWR1642 and PMIC.

Thanks,

Regards,

Roger

  • Roger,

CCS itself does not have a method to profile energy consumption on the device by direct interface with the PMIC device. Our only solution to obtain Energy/Power consumption on target devices is the EnergyTrace technology.

In the case of AWR/IWR devices, I don't know what is their maximum current consumption but, if it is within 800mA, you can use the combination of TMDSEMU110-U and the TMDSEMU110-ETH to properly evaluate its energy consumption profile.

Keep in mind the EnergyTrace solution has to power the target device/board (up to 3.6V) to work properly.
