Hi,

I'm new to CCS and am having trouble building the basic example code. I just got the LAUNCHXL-CC1310 and am running as far I know the latest software stack on my linux box:

CCS 10.4.0.00006
SIMPLELINK-CC13X0-SDK 4.20.00.05
SIMPLELINK-SDK-TI-15-4-STACK-PLUGIN 2.20.00.05
Ubuntu 21.04
Chrome 91.0.4472.114

And I'm running into the following issues. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong:

If I click on view -> resource explorer, a tab opens up in CCS for the explorer, but it just shows a blank white screen. If I click on another file tab, CCS segfaults.
If I go in File -> Import -> CCS Projects -> select search directory, then navigate to ~/ti/simplelink_cc13x0_sdk_4_20_00_05/examples/rtos/CC1310_LAUNCHXL/demos/portableNative and open it and click 'finish', I get the error
- "Import failed for project 'portableNative' because its meta-data cannot be interpreted. Please contact support."
I was interested in low-power design and the example in TIDA-01066. If I download the TIDA-01066 Firmware, unzip and import the Collector (for example), and then under Properties -> Product I add the SimpleLink CC13x0 SDK and the SimpleLink TI 15.4 Stack plugin and try to built it, I get the error:
- Product com.ti.rtsc.TIRTOSCC13XX_CC26XX v2.18.1.04 is not currently installed and no compatible version is available. Please install this product or a compatible version.
- I thought TIRTOS was in the SDK?

Hi Josh,

1) Regarding Resource Explorer, I am not able to reproduce what you are seeing. Can you re-start CCS and try again?

2) Please try this instead: Project -> Import CCS Projects...

3) Regarding TIDA-01066: Please install the required software instead of changing the package in the Properties menu. In this case, e.g. TIRTOSCC13XX_CC26XX v2.18.1.04. You can find it here: http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/tirtos/index.html

Thanks for the suggestions. #2 and #3 make sense. I tried restarting and it still segfaults every time I try the resource explorer. I also get some odd "tag" errors when trying to view board.html files. I wonder if CCS is trying to invoke the wrong version of chromium somehow? I have puppeteer installed on my system so have I think a chromium installed besides Chrome itself.

I went to window -> preferences -> general -> web browser and switched from "default system web browser" to "chrome", which caused different errors in CCS (after restarting). I then switched to "external browser" which seems to work around the issue.

HI Josh,

Note that Ubuntu 21.04 is not officially supported by CCS. I did try CCS 10.4.0 on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (which is supported) and Resource Explorer worked fine.

I'll need to set up a machine with Ubuntu 21.04 and give it a try. I'll let you know how it goes.

I was able to reproduce the issues with the blank views and the CCS crashes. The issue is not just with the Resource Explorer, but with all views using the internal jxbrowser.

I filed a bug for this. Tracking link: https://sir.ext.ti.com/jira/browse/EXT_EP-10482

Note that the priority of this bug is in question since Ubuntu 21.04 is not officially supported. Hence a fix for this issue will likely not be imminent.

Thanks for trying it out and glad you could reproduce it. Using the external browser setting seems to work ok and I haven't run into any other issues yet.

Try the below workaround. It worked for me:

Add the following line to the <CCS INSTALL DIR>/ccs/eclipse/ccstudio.ini file:

-Djxbrowser.rendering.mode=OFF_SCREEN
