Is it possible to run both CCS4 and IAR workbench for the MSP430?

Hi Frank,

It is possible to use both tools on PC without problem.

It might be good to have a bit further information in order to help you but there are two things that I would like you to check:

- what MSP are you using?  If it is one that supports both JTAG and Spy-bi-wire then in IAR you need to choose this manually.  Please make sure this is done in the debug options.   It is under Project - options - TI Debugger I believe.

- how old is your IAR installation?  If IAR was using an older MSP430 dll and then CCS was installed with a newer version, this tends to cause issues.   Ways to get around this are to

1) upgrade IAR

2) manually update the dll file.  This can be done by backing up *important* the msp430.dll and hil.dll files in your IAR directories.  After backup replace them with the ones from CCS.

Please give the above a check.  If it does not solve the issue, please let me know exactly what issue/error you are getting.
