Getting Code Composer Studio 3.3

Hi,

I just bought a TMS320C6713 DSK which comes with CCS v3.1. But I need CCS v3.3 for full Matlab support..I have read forums, and it seems I'm not eligible to get a v3.3 for free (correct me if im wrong). If thats the case, I need to buy it from TI estore. Problem is, the one on TI estore states

"TMDSCCS2000-1 - C2000 Code Composer Studio IDE v3.3 - with Annual Subscription - This package includes Code Composer Studio V3.3 and an annual subscription to updates compatible with only the C2000 MCU series for TI’s TMS320F24x and TMS320C24x devices. "

So if I get it, would it work with the TMS320C6713 DSK??

    It will NOT work with your C6713 device.

    Note that CCS v3.x is no longer supported. We are encouraging people to move to later supported versions (v5). Unfortunately the level of matlab integration is not yet at the level it was with CCSv3.x but it is still recommended to use because it is supported.

    Thanks for the reply, appreciate it very much.

    So would that mean there is no way at all to obtain CCS v3.3 from TI to work with my device? I desperately need it as my final year project involves modelling with Simulink.

    Please, can I obtain full version of CCS 3.3 from TI as a special request? I'm willing to pay. Without it my project cannot progress.

    Hi Nic,

    While there is no way to buy a 3.x license directly anymore, what is available is if you are willing to purchase a 5.1 full license (you can get it from the e-store), we can also add a full copy of 3.3 with the purchase. Once you purchase 5.1 and get your license, send me a private message and we can work out how I can get a 3.3 copy to you.

    Hi Ki,

    Thanks for that. From what you said, I'll consider getting a full 5.1 license ("TMDSCCS-ALLN01D - Code Composer Studio IDE - Node Locked Single User (N01D) - Download Only / NO DVDs") since its the cheapest. Its abit of a burden after shelling out for the C6713 DSK. I'll message you personally once I'ver purchased it.

    If I purchase version 5 is it still possible to get version 3.3 with the purchase?

    Is the above offer still valid and is it available in UK?
