ccs5 licence

Hi Winston,

when you activate you license you need to use the hardware, eth0 MAC address, not the wireless.  Do you have a node locked or floating license?  Are you specifically getting a MAC address invalid type error?   If you have a node locked license, then you have a couple choices

- add the MAC at

www.ti.com/myregisteredsoftware

you are allowed to register two addresses

- rehost you license (allowed a single time by yourself) at the same site for the correct MAC

TI Software Delivery Team & TI Subscription Services Sharon Nigo have help me rehost the license file ,but it is no help ,I still can not license my CCS5.

And the PC is lab PC  which can not reach the internet .

if you would like further assistance, then some further information would be valuable

- details on your server and CCS setup

- is your license on the same pc?  If not the problem is certainly the lack of internet connection/connection to the server

- can you verify it is indeed a floating license you have?

Hi Lisa,

I am Winston's colleague. He gets a baby girl and takes some days leave.

I take this seesion.

Our environment is quite simple, just a PC in lab only intranet access without internet access.

The license is node lock according to the mail from Sharon Nigo. We use our working laptop to visit TI's website to generate the licesne file with the PC's MACs.

CCS version is as the following image

first of all, just a suggestion, that we are now on v5.3 and I recommend installing that!

What exact license error do you see?  How have you tried to point CCS to the license file?

Thanks for your suggestion for upgrading software. We are not sure v5.3 can be fully compatible with our current project.

There is no error message at all. The license is not effective without any information.

We set the license file with the following 4 steps.

Hi Alif,

why do you think there is a problem?  You images show no licensing issues at all.   One point that causes confusion is that CCS will use the demo license until it expires before looking for another license.  Once the demo expires, you will be on the license you added.
