Installing CCS Eclipse Plugin on a System where CCS is already installed?!

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Hi together,

I've already installed CCS v5.2 without Eclipse plugin.

Now I want to use a standard Eclipse with the CCS plugin on the same system.

Is it possible to install the CCS plugin for a standard Eclipse separately?

Thanks für your response,

Alex

  • Hi,

May I ask you, why are you complicating things?

Anyways here's the link you can go through for CCS over Eclipse: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Installing_CCS_over_Eclipse

  • Hello Gautam,

that doesn't work. On this way the CCS installer would install a second copy of the already installed CCS.

Background is, that we are very unsatisfied with the performance of the CCS. Now we are evaluation further IDEs and compilers.

The smartest way for me is to use one frontend (Eclipse standard) and run the different complires via plugins.

This is the reason why I want to install the CCS plugin for standard eclipse separately.

  • You would be able to check only after installing Eclipse (in plugins section). But I don't feel CCS plugin would be available !

  • Hi Alex,

Gautam is correct in that you seem to be looking for a complicated path.  I would lay out the following options

1 - have an eclipse installation in parallel with your ccs installation.  There is nothing preventing you from doing this

2 - use the eclipse version packaged with ccs as standard eclipse!!!   If you look in the eclipse folder in your installation there is both ccstudio.exe and eclipse.exe.  If you launch using eclipse.exe you get eclipse :  )

3 - ccs is available as a plug in, but only on very specific eclipse versions.  Eg ccsv5.4 goes on top of eclipse c/c++ 3.8

    Does this help?

    Best Regards,
