error importing CCSv4 CCS project into CCSv6

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

HI All,

when i try to import my old program i get this error.

i have tried to find the download for the MSP430v3.3 compiler but no success.

I am able to get a compiler from my old v4 versions of CCS and it says i have the v3.3.3 compiler but it wont let me import.

Thanks in advance,

Steven

  • Steven,

I am moving this to the CCSTUDIO forum to get in touch with the CCS experts.

  • Hi Steven,

Are all the files present? This happens when a file goes missing!

    Regards,

    Gautam

  • Hi,

thank you for the quick response. all the files are present. I had been previously able to import the CCS project into the CCS v6 no problem. at that time i got a build error of a very similar message.

i then went into the compilers and added the v3.3.3 from my CCS v4 version. i also downloaded the CCS v3.3 but it did not have a valid compiler to add.

I opened CCS v6 the other day and the project had an x marking an error saying that a "make path" was missing.

i have a backup of the entire project which i originally duplicated when i upgraded to CCS v6. that backup gives the same message.

What else could i try? it says go to the app center to download msp430v3.3 but i can not find that compiler anywhere...

    Thanks again for you help!

  • i also tried re installing the CCS 6 with no success but then i erased all of the compiler directory's inside preferences and put them back. i had done this already but this time i got a message that the changes would take affect on the next start up of CCS v6 and now it imported fine.

    thanks again!
