CCS 5.4 on linux - eclipse compatability

Hi

I'm trying to install CCS v5.4 on my ubuntu.

I understand that in order for the CCS to plugin into eclipse I need to have a certain version of eclipse. I followed the error message I got from the CCS installer, and installed eclipse 3.8.2. However, the CDT version required by CCS should be 8.1.0 or higher. But this version is only available with eclipse 4.2 which the CCS doesn't agree with.

CCS v5.4 requires eclipse 3.8 or 4, CDT 8.1.0 or higher.

available versions (looking at http://www.eclipse.org/cdt/downloads.php)

eclipse 3.8 + CDT 8.0.2

eclipse 4.2 + CDT 8.1.0

can you please give me a more detailed instructions for the eclipse+CDT installation?

thank you very much,

TY

  • TY,

CCS ships with Eclipse and CDT.  If you download the latest version of CCS (6.0.1) it has a much newer version of Eclipse and CDT included than CCSv5.4.  It is easier to install CCS and the included Eclipse and then add any other Eclipse components that you want.

    CCSv5.4 includes Eclipse 3.8 and CDT 8.0.

    CCSv6.0.1 includes Eclipse 4.3.1 and CDT 8.2

    Regards,
