I get this error repeatedly when I try to do today's auto update

  • Hi Roy,
You may have caught the update before it had sync'ed. Could you do the following:
    Exit CCS completely.
Go to the folders <installdir>ccsv6\eclipse\p2\org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core and <installdir>ccsv6\eclipse\p2\org.eclipse.equinox.p2.repository and delete the cache folders.
Restart CCS and try the update again.
Please let me know if this works for you.
    Thanks
    Danish
  • Hi Danish,
I tried the sequence you suggested 3 times to make sure I got it right.
I deleted the two cache folders while CCS was shut off and it still doesn't succeed.
    Here is the full error:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
    session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

  • Hi Roy,

Unfortunately, the message is a little misleading. Here's what the eclipse developers have to say about this issue:

Yes, the problem seems to occur near release date (today I could install too). However, if the problem is a connectivity problem (because of the servers being overloaded), Eclipse should say that, rather than "No repository found". The "No repository found" error is misleading, because make people think that:

    - there's no site with the needed contents

    - Eclipse update does not work

    Please try the following workarounds:

Go to Help -> Install New Software.

Click on the "Add..." button and add this site

Unselect the checkbox "Contact all update sites during install to find required software" right at the bottom of the pane.

Please let me know if this helps.

    Danish

  • Please note, the site to add is "software-dl.ti.com/.../Updates" - not sure how the additional site "software-dl.ti.com" got added to the comment above.
  • Roy, the update has been taken down. I'll update this post when it's been uploaded again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
