Play buttons grayed out in CCS - TM4C1294XL Launchpad

I am trying to run the 'blinky' example program in CCSv6. The target board is the TM4C1294XL Launchpad Rev D. When I click 'Debug', it enters the main() function and then halts. Normally I would press 'Resume' at this point but all of the play/stop/step buttons are grayed out. Can someone explain why these buttons are grayed out?

Hi Dan,
This issue seems to be popping up a lot recently. There are two known issues (so far) for this. The first is that the 'Debug' view is closed. The second is if you are using the 'CCS Simple' perspective. Do either apply to you? If not, please provide the exact CCS version you are using and if you updated your CCS version recently via Update Manager. Also, a screenshot of the issue can be helpful

The debug view is open. I have tried turning both CCS Simple on/off to no avail. This version number of CCS is 6.1.0.00104. I have attached a screenshot.

If you ever used CCS Simple to debug the code (which it appears that you did), then you are hitting a known issue we are aware of, being tracked in bug # SDSCM00051770.

This issue should be fixed for the next update CCS 6.1.1.
