How to add a shortcut to some shell script file?

Hi

Besides using CCS for my development, I have some external tools that I currently have to run in a separate terminal window.

I was wondering if it was possible to add a shortcut to some shell scripting file so that I could perform all my actions from within the CCS IDE.

For example, once in a while I have to execute the command: "sudo chmod 666 /dev/ttyxxx" and I want this to be a one click action.

I'm running CCS 6.1 on Ubuntu.

Best Regards,
Andreas

  • You can try using External Tools to accomplish this. External tools allow you to configure and run programs, batch files, etc using the CCS Workbench.

Support for launching external tools is not enabled by default in CCS, but you can enable it by following the steps in this post. Note that thread references CCSv4 and CCSv5 but something similar should work for CCSv6.

More information on configuring and running external tools can be found in the CCS Online Help (CCS menu Help->Help Contents and search for External Tools).
