CCS/TMS320VC5410: Please tell me the latest debug environment (CCS version and Windows version) for VC5410.

Part Number: TMS320VC5410

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello, we have to update and re-compile our old TMS320VC5410 projects. 

"TMS320C5000 DSP Platform Code Composer Studio IDE v2" is described on our CDROM package. 

We need only .out generation. No need for connecting to any Emulator.

Our purpose is code generation only. Because we can download new codes to our VC5410 board without help of Emulator.

Could you please tell me the VC5410 supported version of CCS and PC Windows?

Q1: Could you please tell me VC5410 supported version of the latest CCS?

Q2: And please tell me the VC5410 Supported PC OS(XP, Win7,Win10) ? 

Q3: Can the latest CCS( also supports VC5410) import above old project files by "Import legacy CCSv3.3 Projects..." option?

We are planning to buy old PC such as WinXP if the envirnment does not run on Win7/Win10 platform.

    I apologize for the delay, but I need to move this to the CCS forum to see if the team managing CCS can give you some guidance on the last official release that supports VC5410.
    It is a pretty old device, so I doubt that it is supported with the latest version of CCS and latest OSs.

    The latest CCS that you can use for C54x is CCSv5.5. You should be able to import CCSv3.3 projects in there. It gets a little more tricky if you project is a DSP/BIOS project but overall it is supported.

    CCSv5.5 is the last version to support C54x.

    Below are the system requirements for Code Composer Studio v5

    Hardware Requirements

    Minimum Recommended
    Memory 1GB 4GB
    Disk space 300MB* 2GB
    Processor 1.5GHz single core Dual core
    • Disk space listed depends on features selected during installation.  Does not include temporary space required by the installer.
    • Note that the most important requirement is memory. 2GB of memory or more memory is highly recommended, it will run with 1GB but it will be slow.

    Operating System Requirements

    • Windows: XP and Windows 7. For Windows 7, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are supported.
    • Linux: details on the Linux distributions supported is available here

    As the first step, we will check our CCS2.1 Based project files by CCS5.5/Windows7 PC.

    If the import to CCS5.5 is failed or many modifications are needed, we may purchase Windows XP PC to build CCS2.1 Environment.

    However, we have one unclear point. 

    Is CCS V2.1 worked on WindowsXP?

    CCS v2.1 is supported on Windows XP. That is the last Windows version it supports.
