CCS/MSP430F427: building a failed test for MSP430 USB BSL

Hi All,

I use USB BSL for MSP430F5659, and it worked fine for my board. I would like to run a failed test to make sure it should fail when I change some bytes in the updated-firmware TI TEXT file.

Any suggestions for a method to perform this test.

Hello Jack,

Thank you for your post. If you're using the BSL-SCRIPTER tool, there's a Verify command that you can use to verify the memory compared to a specific firmware image (e.g. TI TXT file). Please refer to Section 3.1.14 in the Bootloader (BSL) Scripter User's Guide for more details.

For your test, first I'd program the memory with the original firmware image and then verify the memory with the modified firmware image and make sure it fails.
