CCS/TMS320F28069: CLA Assembly code instruction color format

Greetings

I am working on a project which deals with me programming in regular C for DSP as well the CLA in Assembly.

While coding in assembly I was under the impression that an line of instruction would turn into a comment if a semi-colon is placed in front of it and it would turn green. So when I was programming I found out that some instructions had a part of the opcode green and rest was the regular format just like below.

Its possible that I am missing something, but I would really appreciate some explanation as to what it means when a part of the opcode is green and when its not !?

Rajesh,

Which version of CCS are you using? I can't reproduce this with CCS 8.1.

And to confirm, the issue is just with the editor syntax coloring and not with the actual interpretation/compilation of the instruction correct?

Thank you for responding , Currently I am using Code composer Studio V7.3.0.00019 .

And as far as the compilation goes every thing is fine, but if you ask me about the execution of the code , I am not sure. Because I was trying to initialzie some variables in the ClaTask8, and this initialization routine is called in the main program of the DSP, but here is the interesting thing the variables are apparently not initialized if I watch them in the expressions.

But again, the instructions code above which is written in the other task runs just fine.

I just wanted to get things cleared out as to why this happen and what it means.

Update : Everything seems to compile and run fine, but the color change won't go away.

Rajesh,

The color formatting of your file looks as expected in my CCS 7.3. So there must be something different about your environment but I'm not sure what it could be.

Hmm, that is strange...May be it must be something with my code composer studio ?! and not the code itself. I think I'll just update my CCS and re-check if the problem persists.
