Compiler/TMS320C5545: CGT For C55x - Has Development Completely Stopped?

Part Number: TMS320C5545

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hello,

For the windows version - will the code generation tools ever go beyond version 4.4.1?

What is/was the TMS320C5561?

Thanks,
John W.

  • There are no plans for future releases of the C5500 compiler.

    This forum thread discusses it.  If you need more information, then I recommend you ask in the C5500 device forum.  Or, if you prefer, I can move this thread to that forum.

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hello George,

    The '5561 is one of the compile target options with the 4.4.1 tool set - I was just wondering - there is one reference on one of the TI Wiki's - and that page was marked read-only last month.

    Have another question if that's OK -
    In the 7.4.x tools (CCS IDE) - I've downloaded the 4.4.1 CGT for the c55x, and an older project (circa CCS v5, and v6) - is able to build OK. I tried this same procedure in version 8.1 of the CCS IDE, and the project doesn't stop at main when loaded. I haven't looked at this in any great detail yet - but just wanted to ask if there's been any testing with the c55x tools and the latest released CCS.

    Thanks In Advance,
    John W.
