CCS/TMS320VC5509A: TMS320VC5509A CCS version and Target configuration file

Hi, i'm trying to use a TMS320VC5509A.

Which version of CCS is suitable for this processor?

I have got Ubuntu 16.04 on my computer and CCS 5.4, but when I try to create a target configuration file, I can't find the device TMS320VC5509A in the list (I see TMS320C5509A but no TMS320VC5509A).

So which version of CCS support TMS320VC5509A?

I tried also with CCS 6.2, but same problem, I can't find TMS320VC5509A in the list when I create the target configuration file.

    The "C" configuration can be used with the "VC" device.

    At about the same time that C55x CCSv5 support was fully implemented, there was a tentative decision to consolidate all C55x part numbers by removing the "V" on them ( a few app notes reflect that by mentioning TMS320C5509, for example). This was reverted on the product pages but, since many customers were already using the prior configuration, the decision was made to avoid breaking compatibility and causing disruption. That is why you see the "C" version.

    Hi Paolo,

    As you can see in the images below, this part of the name of a TI's DSP is the technology of manufacturing and this does not affect the CCXML file. You can easily choose TMS320C5509A instead of TMS320VC5509A and make your CCXML file.
