CCS/TMDSEMUPROTRACE: No trace data is collected from TMS570LC43x ETM using XDS560V2 Pro trace

Hello Expert,

I am trying to collect the ETM trace data from TMS570LC43x using XDS560V2 Pro Trace, but no data is collected. Could you please check is I missed any anything in my configuration.

Device used: TMS570LC4357

PCB: HDK with 60-pin MIPI connector

Trace tool: XD560V2 Pro Trace

CCS: 8.x

1. The device is connected with XDS560V2 Pro emulator.

2. The HW Trace Analysis is configured as below:

3. Start the trace collection in trace viewer:

4. Load the rtiBlinky example code to the flash, and execute the code from flash, the LED on the HDK is blinking.

5. Stop trace collection, but there is no data collected

As showed in the screenshot, no data is collected. I don’t use PLL, so the CPU speed is 16MHz only. Do I need to configure or initialize the ETM and TPIU in my MCU to use the trace feature of XDS560V2 Pro Trace?

Interesting; I was able to get full PC Trace data from my setup here by simply going to menu Tools → Hardware Trace Analyzer → PC Trace

I would strongly suggest you then to close CCS, completely delete the directory located at %HOMEPATH%\.TI-trace and retry.

I am using CCSv8.3.0 on Windows 10/64.

Do you use LC4357 HDK for your test? I restarted CCS, but I have the same problem. I will install CCS 8.3 and retry tomorrow.

I installed CCS 8.3, and I got the same problem. Is any driver special required? Do you use LC4357 HDK?
