CCS/CODECOMPOSER: CC2640R2 Code Composer Search Icon Missing

I'm new to CCS.  I have two CC2640R2F projects.  One is Project Zero, and the other is i2ctmp007_CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs.  They are in two different work spaces.  When I load the i2ctmp007 project, I can do searches by clicking on the Search Icon that looks like a finger with some kind of string around it.  I can use it just fine (although I can't find anything outside its scope on something as simple as GPIO_init).

But as soon as I load the Project Zero project, the Search Icon completely disappears.  It's not grayed out, it's simply gone.  I can click on a file in the project and view it.  I can build the project.  I just can't search through the files for anything because the search icon IS NOT THERE.

Is there any rational reason why an IDE should make it's search icon not appear in certain projects that otherwise seem to work?  What do I have to do to get the search icon to exist in ALL projects?

    I can't seem to remember this icon. The search icon I am thinking of looks like a flashlight. Is this what you are alluding to?
