CCS/CODECOMPOSER: How can I find the "refactor " command in Code Composer Studio 8.3.0?

Part Number: CODECOMPOSER

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello, I am using CCSv8.3.0 on windows 10. When I put my cursor on a variable name, there is no choice to refactor. If I select the variable name and click the right button on my mouse, there is no refactor choice either.

However I can find "Refactoring" in the help content. So please tell me how can I find the command, I have tried according to the help content, but no dialog related to "refortor" appears, like the image I upload.

  • Jack,

In the Simple perspective the right context menu is "simplified" so you won't see the refactor menu. If you switch out of simple mode it will use the CCS Edit perspective which does have this menu item.

To disable simple mode go to the View menu and select Getting Started. Then select no to using Simple Mode.

    Regards,
    John
  • Hi John,

Thank you for your reply. I don't use simple mode now and I have found the refactor menu. But there is another problem that when I don't use the simple mode, the project explorer will be hidden(in other word, be folded) at the left as well, but I want to pin the project explorer menu to the screen, is there any way to do this?

The project explorer is hidden automatically like the image.

  • Go to these icons on the left. If you click the top one it will restore the Project Explorer to its last docked position. If you click the bottom one it will slide it out but then when you click away it will slide back.

    Regards,

    John
