CCS/CCSTUDIO: CCS 7.4.0.00015 on Windows 10

Part Number: CCSTUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi Team,

I have a customer who created a project initially on CCS 7.4.0.00015 on their Windows 7 system.  They are trying to import their project on to their new Windows 10 system but are running into some issues.

Could you help provide some insights on if CCS 7.4.0.00015 is supported on Windows 10? And what would be the best way for our customer to proceed?

Please see our customer's description below:

In the import dialog window, we click on browse and select our project directory.  Afterwards, we don’t see any projects in the dialog window.

This process works on the windows 7 system.

Thanks for the help and best regards,

Jerry

  • Jerry,

CCSv7.4 should work fine on Windows 10. It was tested on Windows 10 at the time of release. Windows 10 has changed since then but not discovering projects is very odd. Can you provide a screen capture that shows that there are projects in the C:\fwprojects folder?

    Regards,
    John
  • Hi Jerry,

I work with OMAPL138 on CCSv7.4 under W10 Pro for Workstations. So far everything works fine same as on Windows x64 Ultimate.

The big problem is a CCS (>=7.4) installation on W10.
I cannot install CCS7.4 on W10 because of a known error "..requires a service pack 1 Windows 7.." on Windows 10. However, I have the last state of W10 (1809 2019-04). Then I copied the installed system from VM W7x64 to W10 C:/ti. I used CCS6 on W10 before.
It works fine without any problems.

    Regards,
    Alex

    How did you do that?
    What did you get?

Please zip amd post your ccs_setup_9.0.1.00004_install.log

  • Hi Jerry,

I have solved this problem via install with login in W10 as Administrator. I tried to start the installation of CCS9 and it started fine now without any messages. Pleas check whether it works for you.

    Best Regards,
    Alexander

  • Glad you did.
