Hi,

How to change PMP30046 Schematic?

This circuit is for 3.3V SSD Backup Power Supply?

We need 5V output for 2.5" SATA SSD Backup Power Supply and 12V output for 2.5" NVMe SSD Backup Power Supply.

B&R

Perry

  • Hello Perry,
If your load is 5V or 12V instead of 3.3.V, you could remove the TPS62130 (U2) from the schematic and directly connect the load to the hot swap circuit.
The boost converter could be optimized for the higher input voltage by increasing the inductance value and the hold-up voltage could also be slightly increased for the 12V case. You need to adjust the output voltage divider R25/R29 for that.
For the 12V load case you also need to adjust the output voltage of the LM43603 (U4) by adjusting R24, R30 and C13.
If you also want to use the window comparator, the thresholds also need to be adjusted for your use cases.

  • HI,

The ssd backup power module, we'd like to build in 3.5" drive tay.

If we delete C20,C21, use C22,C23,C24,C25,C26,C27 for this circuit.

We need to know it is ok?

Becasue of C22,C23,C24,C25,C26,C27 capacitor, their voltage are 6.3V, but the circuit is to bust to 28V?

    Besr Regards

  • Hi Perry,

C22 through C27 are only placeholders on the PCB and have not been assembled for this design. If you want to use Tantalum Polymer capacitors, you need to make sure that these have a voltage rating above the hold-up voltage you want to use.
