I've downloaded the simulation model from the website. When I try running it I get the following error message:
ERROR(ORPSIM-16276): Simulation cannot be completed because library C:/Users/svx.xxx/Documents/delme/fixed_pspice/round6/name_revert/opa2314.lib
How do I fix this error?
Hey Stan,
I am currently working on this, will let you know soon.
All the best,
Carolina
Hey Stan,
Welcome to e2e :)
In which program are you opening up the downloaded file? PSpice for TI or Cadence PSpice?
I did not get an error when simulating from the integrated library from PSpice for TI.
I saw a similar error as the one you stated when I downloaded the file and tried to run the project. I do not recommend doing it this way. The file upload to ti.com is mandatory to be updated in PSpice for TI on our end.
Next steps:
If using Cadence PSpice, just save the .lib file from the downloaded & extracted folder and use that in your design.
If using PSpice for TI, use the integrated library to not get errors.
All the best,
Carolina
I used Cadence PSpice. Can you please elaborate on what "The file upload to ti.com is mandatory to be updated in PSpice for TI on our end." mean? So far, I only used an example from the TI website as a starting point, and I didn't make any changes yet. What file do I need to upload?
It is slightly of the topic question, but it appears like TI offers several Spice tools, such as TINA Tica, Cadence PSpice. So, when I download a model, what is the way for me to know which Spice flavor to use?
Hey Stan,
If you are using Cadence PSpice, please use this set of instructions to import the ".lib" file for the op-amp: https://training.ti.com/pspice-ti-3rd-party-model-import, these are technically for PSpice for TI but it still applies to Cadence PSpice.

The ti.com "Model and simulator" page summarizes the available free simulators available at this link: https://www.ti.com/design-resources/design-tools-simulation/models-simulators/overview.html
This technical article outlines how to use PSpice for TI to evaluate, verify and debug your analog circuits. https://e2e.ti.com/blogs_/b/analogwire/posts/how-to-simulate-complex-analog-power-and-signal-chain-circuits-with-pspice-for-ti
The blue resources are available in the TINA-TI/TINA Design Soft software.
The orange resources are available in the PSpice-for-TI/Cadence PSpice software.
The purple resources are reference designs with the model already installed in a circuit.
The red resources are simply just the models to import into the program.
Can you please elaborate on what "The file upload to ti.com is mandatory to be updated in PSpice for TI on our end." mean?
PSpice for TI has an integrated library that includes all of the models already on ti.com. I have to upload the file to ti.com to have it integrated into the program. Currently, the model works inside the program but the reference design seems not to be uploaded correctly. I will correct this.
All in all, I suggest importing the way shown in the video or just using PSpice for TI or TINA-TI.
All the best,
Carolina
