PMP22650: PFC efficiency

Hello,

I have a question regarding the efficiency of PFC.
What is the difference in efficiency between using PFC and using only FET Paralled Rectifier?
I would like to know about AC power consumption, EMC conducted emissions, radiated emissions, DC link ripple, etc.

Hi Ryo, i recommend taking a look at the below paper that goes over alot of these in detail.

A bridgeless PFC liked used in PMP22650 will have less input current distortion THD and therefore a higher power factor. It will take less input RMS current for the same power load versus just a bridge. This is why PMP22650 has a high 98.5% efficiency as shown in the test report.

In terms of EMI, a bridgeless solution will have higher common mode noise but additional input filtering can be used to reduce the EMI.

We cannot find what we want to know from the paper you recommended.
Do you have the numeric comparison data between using PFC and not using PFC on the power consumption of AC power supply or efficiency on the same load?
