PMP22650: Operation method for evaluating PFC alone

Part Number: PMP22650

Hello,

I would like to know what to be careful about when evaluating PFC alone.
According to the quick guide, the operating procedure says to set the electronic load current to 0A before starting the PFC. Is it necessary to start this at 0A at first and increase the load?
First, we will evaluate at a low current, but will any problems occur if we set a 2A load from the beginning and then start the PFC?

Best Regards,
Ryo Maeda

  • Hi, Roy,

It's important to only start the PFC into no load. The reason for this is the relay does not close until you tell the converter to start. if you put a load on it when the relay is open the inrush resistor will burn out.

    Best regards,

    Brent
