About a week ago (end of February, 2024) I upgraded my PSPICE for TI program per the prompt, but after upgrading I was unable to open it again -- nothing happened when I opened it (no splash, error, etc.). I then reinstalled the older version that was working, but after installation and trying to open PSPICE, I got this error:
ERROR (LMC-022097): License call failed for feature PSpice_TI, version 23.100 and quantity 1. The bundle name is defined as TI_PSpice_231. Error encountered while reading license configuration data. Reinstall the product or go to http://e2e.ti.com for further assistance.
I reinstalled and rebooted several times, requested a new license key, and no luck so far. I still get the same error when opening. Any ideas on how to remedy this?
Hi Calvin,
Not sure why, but the older install was looking for the newer install license.
To debug this further, can you please do the following:
Setup environment variable CDS_LIC_QA_TesT
The CDS_LIC_QA_TesT environment variable is a testability code that is set on the client system running the Cadence tools. The variable is set for troubleshooting Licensing issues. CDS_LIC_QA_TesT must be set before the invocation of the Cadence tool. The value of this variable is any writable area on your system.
Windows:
Access the Windows button, then Run systempropertiesadvanced > Environment Variables > System Variables > New > CDS_LIC_QA_TesT = c:\cadence\qalog.txt
After setting this variable, invoke the tool. If you get a Licensing error, send the qalog.txt file to Customer Support. The qalog.txt file can grow quite large over time. Hence, it is best to unset the variable when your problem is solved.
Note: Do not set this variable in c:\ drive as you may not have write permission there and the file will not get created. Please set it either in c:\cadence or in a different drive like d:\ .

Hi Calvin,
I got your file from Ray. I'll get back with you when we've had a chance to diagnose this further.
David
Hi Calvin,
Thanks for the file. Cadence reviewed it and they need the file based on a fresh install rather than a reinstallation.
Can you uninstall, then reboot. Delete the file associated with the env var CDS_LIC_QA_TesT, then install PSpice for TI and share the file again.
It can go to Ray, or upload here, whichever works best for you.
Also, if you get an error during install, please capture that and share as well.

Hey Dave,
Actually, after uninstalling, rebooting, and then reinstalling PSPICE for TI it finally worked! I'm guessing the rebooting after uninstalling was key. Thanks for the help -- I'll reach out again if I run into more issues.
Nice. I was getting a license warning. I re-installed, and that hasn't come back. I'm not sure what's going on as this seems to be intermittent making it difficult to diagnose.
