PSPICE-FOR-TI: LMC-022097 License Call Failed Error

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have uninstalled then reinstalled PSpice for TI on my machine multiple times but I continue to get this error:

I have been able to run a simulation of a circuit once where there are no errors generated but when I reopen the application to simulate the same or a different circuit after the window has been closed I get this error.

Please help me fix this issue.

  • Hi Alexander,

When you uninstalled, did you use the add/remove program utility?

The program is looking for the license.

Can you check the following path for the license?

    %appdata%\Cadence\VBL\TI_Pspice_231\license

There shoujld be a file there, license.txt

Does it look like the file date is the same as the last time that you installed the tool?

The other thing we can do to debug is to setup an environment variable to capture a bunch of data when the tool is invoked.

    CDS_LIC_QA_TesT environment variable
The CDS_LIC_QA_TesT environment variable is a testability code that is set on the client system running the Cadence tools. The variable is set for troubleshooting Licensing issues. CDS_LIC_QA_TesT must be set before the invocation of the Cadence tool. The value of this variable is any writable area on your system.
    Windows:
Access the Windows button, search for edit environment variables for your account.
    New > CDS_LIC_QA_TesT = c:\cadence\qalog.txt
After setting this variable, invoke the tool. If you get a Licensing error, send the qalog.txt file to Customer Support. The qalog.txt file can grow quite large over time. Hence, it is best to unset the variable when your problem is solved.
Note: Do not set this variable in c:\ drive as you may not have write permission there and the file will not get created. Please set it either in c:\cadence or in a different drive like d:\ .

I'm out tomorrow, and Monday is a holiday, so my responses will be delayed.

    Apologies,

    David

  • Hi David,

I used the add/remove program utility.

I check the path listed below and found the license.txt file. The file date matched my installation date.

I set up the CDS_LIC_QA_TesT environment variable and have a qalog.txt file. How would you like me to get the file to you?

    Many thanks,

    Alexander

  • Hi Alexander,

Yes please share your qalog.txt file.

    Thanks,
    JC
