TIDA-01350: High-Speed, Linear Transimpedance amplifier reference design

Part Number: TIDA-01350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH5401

For TIDA-01350:

1. Does it include a fiber coupled photodiode? is the connector FC/APC?

2. Is TIA bandwidth tunable? Can we get transimpedance gain up to ~2GHz?

3. What is the TIA output voltage range?

4. Is the RF connector SMA?

Thanks

  • Hi Honam,

    1. The reference design highlights the photodiode but the design as a whole is not orderable. We do provide the Gerber files and everything needed to get the board fabricated. The connector is FC/APC.

    2. The TIA gain is tunable, which will tune your bandwidth however in a low gain setting, getting 2GHz of usable bandwidth might be difficult with this design. Section 5.3 highlights the bandwidth performance of this design. Bandwidths in the 1GHz are much more realistic for this design.

    3. The output range for the design can be found in the LMH5401 datasheet as this is the output stage of the TIA. The datasheet can be found here.

    4. The outputs on the board are SMA connectors. (J1 and J2)

    Best Regards,
