WEBENCH® Tools/TPS61071-Q1: The Iout of TPS61071-Q1

Hi

I simulated TPS61071-Q1 under Vin=3.3V, Vout=5V, Iout=200mA by Webench.
But I couldn't  simularted it because switch current limited exceeded.
I think this device can operate that condition considering figure 1 in datasheet(attached document).
Could you tell me the reason that I couldn't simulate this device under that condition?

    I looked at it, and found this -

    The peak switch current reaches ~0.4 A at this operating condition with an Iav(avg input current) of ~0.348 A and pk-pk ripple of 0.1 A.
    The minimum switch current limit in the datasheet is 0.455 A for TPS61071-Q1.

    Additionally, we took some margin of 15 percent over the calculated peak switch current(1.15*0.4=0.46A >0.455) for being conservative.
    This led to the design failure.

    I am removing this additional margin of 15 percent, and this will cause the design to accurately create for your condition in our next release to ti.com/TPS61071-Q1.

    For now, I will suggest you to lower the Iout to 0.19 A and look at the design which will be almost similar to 0.2 A condition.

    Once we are able to simulate the design for 0.2 A, I will let you know as well.
