Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools
We designed with TPS54340 and TPS54560 by WEBENCH.
Vin: 32V to 40V
Vout: 24V
Iout: 3.3A
TA: 60 degC
The device characteristics is almost same between TPS54340 and TPS54560. However WEBENCH result was different.
We can designed with TPS54560, however we cannot design with TPS54340 because IC Tj is over 150 degC.
Why does these difference come?
Our customer is considering to use TPS54340 or TPS54560.
Should we select TPS54560 from WEBENCH result? Do you think we can use TPS54560 for the above using condition though output is high power?

Hi Sasaki-san,
Thanks a lot for bringing this discrepancy up between TPS54340 and TPS54560 to our attention. We are looking at this and will come back to you as you as we find out the reason and resolve it.

Flora-san,
Thank you for your response.
We would like to get the information as soon as possible because our customer must select device.
We would like to know if there is any difference which relates to efficiency between internal of TPS54340/60 and TPS54540/60.
If there is no, I think there is some difference in simulation model.
Best Regads,
Kohei Sasaki
Sasaki-san,
After taking a closer look at the discrepancy reported by you, we found that TPS54560 model is right for the intented test conditions and TPS54340 model requires improvements. The TPS54340 model changes will be released in few days.

Flora
Flora-san,
Thank you for your reply.
Does TPS54340 thermal performance become same as TPS54560?
If it is so, I hope that TPS54360 model is improved too.

The fixed models of TPS54340 and TPS54360 are on production.
TPS54340 and TPS54560 will have the same thermal performance as long as they use the same components and test conditions.
Please let us know about any other discrepancy about these models.

Flora
