TIDA-01467: Extending current measurement range

Hi team,

I promoted TIDA-01467 for my customer engineer and he has strong interesting. But the customer would like to measure the current up to 100A. One issue could be if PCBA can flow 100A on internal Cu layer pattern, and another one could be linearity and accuracy of DRV425.
Do you think 100A range is possible by modifying something of TIDA-01467? Please advise me.

Hi Nobuhiko,

Modifying TIDA-01467 to support 100A high current is not feasible. To measure 100A high current a bus bar over the IC is needed, refer to TIPD205 design for more details.

What is dominant reason of impossible of 100A measurement with TIDA-01467? Is it thickness of copper flow 100A, or other?

Yes one of the reasons is with the thickness of PCB trace for high currents.
