TIDA-00915: max power without heatsink and fan

Hi,

It seems the 1.5kW nominal power is with heatsink and fan. How much is the max power without them?

    Hi Jerry,

                    The output power supported without heat sink depends on multiple parameters like DC bus voltage, PCB copper thickness, Via, dv/dt, ambient temperature, switching frequency and more. With thermal resistance of 26.5deg, operating at 55deg ambient, maximum allowable power dissipation would be ~3.5W, which translates to 21w for all the six switches. Based on efficiency measurement from TIDA-00915, this would theoretically translates to 1000w. Considering derating of junction temperature and other factors, 600 - 750W might be reasonable.
