WEBENCH® Tools/LMK03328: Defalt VCO gain setting does not match the value in the data sheet.

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi Team,

When I run LMK03328 simulation, I found that WEBENCH uses VCO Gain = 49.011MHz/V as default value. However, the datasheet states VCO Gain = 55MHz/V (TYP).

Why does WEBENCH use 49.011MHz/V ? Is it considering the VCO Gain process variation ?

Please correct this value if this is a typo.

* LMK03318 simualtion is also using the similar value.

LMK03328 WEBENCH simulation default VCO Gain is 49.011MHz/V]

LMK03328 data sheet specification is 55MHz/V (TYP)

  • Hi Kawai,
Kvco value is different on different VCO frequency, that's why datasheet only show a typical value.
Your target VCO frequency has another Kvco value according to a lookup table in webench model.

  • Hi Shawn-san,

    Thanks for your comment.

So, can we understand that Kvco value which showned in the WEBENCH result is the correct value for the used VCO frequency ?

We wanted to make sure the Kvco value to run simulation on another tool.

    Best Regards,

    Kawai

  • Correct.
