PMP11064: PMP11064-Reference Design Guide

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone share latest design guide for this PMP11064 model. Seems like the document missed in the field . And can i have the dimensions for this model (x-y-z axis).

Whether this design require special cooling mechanism at half/full load?

Hi,

There is an updated design built on PMP11064 PCB:

The output voltage was adjusted to 24V for better efficiency.
This design is designed without forced air cooling (natural convention). So you don't need to provide additional airflow even at full load.

The xyz dimension for this design is 100mm x 200mm x 38mm. The tallest component to be T500.

Hi,

Thanks for the details.

Do we have a simulation file and step file for this model? shall we have it because we are planning to use this model for our next design. It will be helpful for us if it is in our hand.

Sorry. I didn't create simulation model for this design. However, we do have Simplis simulation models for our new PFC controller UCC28064A and new LLC controller UCC25630. You could try to modify the circuit parameter for your design.

Hi ,
Whether this size of the power supply can be reduced further like 40mm in the x axis? any possibilities we have for that ?
Please advise what can be done to achieve the size like 150x100x38 !!

Hi,

I think it is possible! First of all, we have a new LLC controller UCC25630x which has high voltage start up and burst mode light load operation. So it can start up on its own and also provide low power consumption at light load. So you could remove the bias Flyback on the PMP11282/PMP11064 board. That saves you some space. Second, the PFC inductors I used in this design are actually rated 300W each (Total 600W). So you could find something smaller if your power level is 400W or below. Inductor with PQ3220 core should be good. If you use RM shape, the size might be even smaller.
Also, you could try to reduce EMI filter size base on the EMI test results.
