TIDA-01547: Can the reference design support other frequency bands besides 902/853/433MHz?

Part Number: TIDA-01547

In the key documents of  TIDA-01547 and TIDA-010003, the frequency bands are 902/863/433 MHz.

Is that possible to run 6LoWPAN mesh on this reference design at other frequency bands (e.g., 297-351MHz, which is listed as supported frequency band in data sheet of cc1310)?

Thanks in advance.

  • User5983683, hello and thank you for your interest in Texas Instruments. Your inquiry has been received and forwarded to our Grid Infrastructure team. The design owner of the two designs in question is out of office until April 7th, so please expect that response to your question will be delayed several business days, within 1-2 business days after April 7th. If we are able to identify someone else on the team that will be able to answer this question sooner, we will be sure to answer as soon as possible.

  • Hi,

The TIDA-01547 reference design was built on top of the SimpleLink TI 15.4-Stack. The TI 15.4-Stack currently supports the three frequency bands you mentioned. Please, keep track of the SimpleLink TI 15.4-Stack update in future for other bands support.

  • Wonsoo,

    Thanks.
So you mean now it's impossible to use TI 15.4-stack at other frequency band even though CC1310 can support 297-351MHz?

Another question: is there any solution for a mesh network working at 297-351MHz with TI's sub-1G chips?
  • You would create another e2e thread with the topic of CC1310 or TI 15.4-Stack support for the frequency bands and any sub-1GHz mesh solutions available to suppor the frequency band. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Wonsoo
