Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools
Hi,
We have created a new project with the LM5176PWPT-HTSSOP-28, and we tested now the 1st prototype.
The project is in the WebDesign number 56 of my account.
Some remarks: This DC-DC converter is designed to a maximum output load of 10A @ 12V regulated in a input range of Vin = 9V to 17Vdc
But this time it happens the prototype its not performing well. The following tests has been carried out:
TEST 1: Vin = 12.0V and Iload = 0A (No load). RESULT: The DC-DC converter performs well with Vout = 12.05V
TEST 2: Vin = 12.0V, and Iload = 500mA. RESULT: The DC-DC converter performs well with Vout = 12.05V.
TEST 3: Vin = 12.0V and Iload = 600mA. RESULT: Vout = 12.0V at beginning and drops suddenly to 2.05V during the load transition. During a few seconds we have heardDC-UPS-P 1622d.pdf a series of noisy "clicks" similar too relays switching.
The DC-DC didn't recover anymore and is faulty. The M1-H Mosfet is in open circuit and don't switch.
Thanks
Good morning, Praveen
We have been using a DC electronic load to test the prototypes. The malfunction of the prototypes is in some way related with the constant current load operation mode of the DC electronic load (some control particularity) that we have used in first place. With the DC electronic load in constant resistance load operation mode the prototype units performing well.
Regards,
Manuel
