Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools
Hello team,
My customer noticed some limitations when using Webench with the LM5117-Q1 Can you help with the below?
In the WeBench tool the IOUT is listed as only going up to 6 Amps for a 12V input, 5V output, but the order profile says this part can output up to 20A. Is there a particular reason why the WeBench tool does not allow inputs over 6A?
Thank you for your support!
Hi Alex,
The default conditions in the panel are usually just a starting point and can sometimes be similar to an EVM for that device or some conditions that may have been recommended by the product apps engineer. I am not certain on the history of 12V Vin, 5V Vo, 6A Io for LM5117-Q1. However, the load current values can be increased to as much as 20A. You should be able to change the Vin, Vout and Iout to your design conditions and create a design with this device as long as it does not violate any constraints like min on-time, thermal limits, etc.
Regards,
Amod
