WEBENCH® Tools/LMZM33606: LMZM33606 - webench soft start simulation

Part Number: LMZM33606

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi All,

I want to change the ss pin capacitor and i want to ensure the slow start time. I tried in the webench, webench does not have the option. Then i downloaded the file from webench and it is loaded in tina ti.

The tina ti running two slowly. And i cant see any response for the slow start pin as well.

Please provide the guidance.

  • i am getting 0 output only. The simulation file is not working. In the attachment contains schematics as well as result window, along with simulation settings.

  • The simulation done in the PSPICE , But the same response in the behaviour.

  • Hi Selva Kumar,

The start up simulation is disabled on webecnh as Simulation time is high.

However. I am able to run the TINA model exported from the Webench. Please find the image below. I have attached the file for your reference.

We usually do not probe the soft start pin to check the response. You can also increase the soft start time by adding desired capacitor at the soft start pin.

  • Hi Atul,

Thanks for the response, Usually how much time it will take for simulation. Its running too much time. Any possibility to reduce the simulation running time in tina ti.This is my analysis parameters in the tina ti.

Here my simulation time and 20nF capacitor :

if any modifications required in settings please let me know.

  • Hi Selva Kumar,

It takes around 10-15 minutes to complete the simulation. You can increase the maximum time step from 50n to 100n to reduce the sim time.

Also note that increasing time step may reduces the smoothness of the curves.

You can also increase DC relative error to 2m and DC absolute voltage error till 10u.

    Atul

  • Hi Atul,

I followed your suggestion and done the simulation with 20nF capacitor in the ss pin. But the simulation results not showing intended results. Please suggest to proceed further.

  • Hi Selva Kumar,

The internal soft start cap is 10pF. Adding external 10nF would increase the start up time by huge amount. I would suggest to keep the pin hanging (do not connect cap) and simulate the design by adjusting the parameters as said in above post.
