Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools
Hi Team, we just want to clarify the items on the configuration options and how it is affecting the design recommendation on webench.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Mark
Hi Mark,
LM5122 has the following options in the configuration window.
1. Soft start time: User has the option to select the required soft-start time. This will change the value of Css Cap and steady steady-state response time as given in the datasheet.
2. User Preferred Frequency: The user has the option to select the desired switching frequency. This changes the value of the RT resistor.
3.User Sync Frequency: The internal oscillator can be synchronized to an external clock by applying a positive pulse signal into this SYNCIN pin.
4.Peak to Peak inductor ripple: User has the option to choose the Inductor ripple current. This will affect the value of the inductor as shown in the datasheet.
5.Maximum Component height: This will limit the maximum height of the component in the circuit.
Thanks & Regards,
Praveen
Hi Praveen,
This is a follow-up question from the same customer:
"Is it correct if I leave the Peak to Peak inductor ripple parameter at zero (0%) or do I need to set a value? This is because this setting is part of the configuration options, so I don't have to set it."
Thanks in advance!
Art
Hi Art,
WEBENCH selects 30% of full load current as the default value. If the Peak to Peak inductor ripple parameter left blank, WEBENCH takes the default value. Any value entered within the given range will be considered for the calculation.
Thanks & Regards,
Praveen
