Dear Texas,

I have prepared customized Pcb Layout & Schematic using Tida-01093 Reference Design, could some on please comment on Layout?

Pcb Layout is made in Altium & it is 4 layered Pcb.

Refer to +12v, +5v_and I2C Bus & Uart & CAN Bus Routing. Also refer AFE Section Ground Pouring. and if any other comments please help to correct it.

    Hi Rohit,

    In general I can't provide engineering services for your design.  The TIDA-01093 is provided for your reference according to its disclaimer.  I don't know if it is suitable for your design or if your modifications will work. 

    I don't see structural problems with the schematic implementation of the BQ76930s.  

    • U1 REGOUT goes only to the cap and test point.  Not sure if you intended to use this as a power supply but it does not seem connected.  You have U10 so it may be as intended.
    • U10 is powered from the top of stack for the GND based circuitry.  The top BQ76930 provides VCC_U, so the top cells will tend to drain faster than the lower 10 cells. 
    • C30 and C31 are 10 uF, this is a very large value and may cause settling problems and voltage errors during balancing. The designer of TIDA-01093 did not clarify the value. The 1 uF input capacitors can also show some voltage measurement errors during balancing, smaller values are often used in reference designs. 
    • You will want the bottom of D2 and the right side of R6 to connect to GND.
    • Someone recently commented Q46 broke in their design.  D46 will peak detect transients on C20, you might consider if you want a filter from C20 to the diode and if you want to use that voltage to feed the Q49 and the Q52/Q53 circuit.  The TIDA worked as shown in its test results, consider if your environment may require or benefit from changes.
    • On you layout it is difficult to provide meaningful feedback.  I do notice C23 and C25 seem to be a long way from U1.  In general you want a signal propogating toward the IC to reach its filter capacitor and be attenuated before reaching the IC pins.  This applies also to signals which may be filtered to the net such as VC5X or BAT of the IC, you would want the signal through the filter capacitor to reach the large VC5X/BAT filter capacitor before the IC pin.  Where this is not possible due to size consider if you need smaller high frequency caps at the IC to supplement the filtering of the large cap located far away. 

    If you have questions on  the other Ti ICs, you might ask a forum question on that device if it is not covered in the data sheet or other design resources for those devices.
