PMP10936: Two-switch Flyback Converter

Hi team,


Good day. 


Our customer is looking for a controller for a two-switch Flyback Converter and we have suggested the PMP10936 reference design. However, they would need a power supply with AC input of 185VAC - 530VAC providing an output 36VDC (about 10 to 20W). Do we have any other reference design or monolithic chips that meet these requirements?

    Hello Carlo,

    for this low power range a standard flyback will make it;
    have a look at PMP7958 or PMP10200, both HV designs.

    Controllers like LM5021/5022 are suited, but QR controller like
    UCC287k-series will offer improved over all efficiency and
    better light load effcy.
    Furthermore UCC287k series offers primary side regulation;
    so you could avoid the opto isolator to close the loop and safe
    some money here. If 3% tolerance of output voltage are allowed
    and transformer is well designed go for PSR.

    I checked our data base, we got no design that meets your requirements.
