BOOSTXL-AOA: BOOSTXL-AOA replacement

Part Number: BOOSTXL-AOA

Hi,

I found information that "BOOSTXL-AOA" will be EOL.
dev.ti.com/.../node

Are there any plan to release a locator EVM(have multiple antennas)?
Without it, I think AoA development cannot proceed.

Regards,

Rei

  • Hi Rei,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Based on the feedback we have received from our customers, we are doing some changes in the way we are supporting RTLS and AoA. As you have mentioned, one of these changes consists in end-of-living the BOOSTXL-AOA boosterpack.

These changes do not question CC13x2/CC26x2 support for Bluetooth® 5.1 direction finding feature - see our recently Bluetooth LE qualified design both for locators and targets. In addition, customers can develop their own antenna board fitting their requirements leveraging our online documentation (see design files for the BOOSTXL-AOA and this app note).

In general, the development of Bluetooth 5.1 compliant tags (also called targets) has been made easier. Tags can be developed by directly leveraging the rtls_responder example project and you can follow this porting guide to port the code to the LPSTK-CC1352R.

To finish, when it comes to AoA, if you are directly supported by our FAEs, to mention your project. They will then assess the help TI can provide.

    Best regards,
