CC2674R10: CAN Driver support in SimpleLink SDK 7_40_00_77

In the meantime we found out that indeed the SDK does not support CAN for CC2674:

No CC26XX or CC26X4 there.
So the questions remain:

1. Will this be fixed soon?

2. Is there a workaround to get the CAN Driver configured for a CC2674 in the meantime?

Usage of CAN driver is described in C:\ti\simplelink_cc13xx_cc26xx_sdk_7_40_00_77\source\ti\drivers\CAN.h.

I do see the same thing, that CAN is not addable with SysConfig, and will check with the Drivers Team.

Thanks, I'm using the example in CAN.h resp. the doxygen doc as starting point.

BTW: It would be nice if TI could fix this example so that it compiles without errors - some variable declarations are missing.

I got a response from Drivers Team.

The behavior you see is expected, we only support CAN in SysConfig for CC26x1, CC26x2, and CC23xx.
(The implementation itself should still be usable for CC26x4).

Is this for an automotive application? I'm asking because CAN is commonly used in automotive.
If yes, note that we do not currently have automotive-grade variants for CC26x4.

At the moment, no.

Note that you can still generate similar code with an enabled device project (e.g. CC26x2), then copy that generated code to a CC26x4 project (adjusting pins as needed).

Thanks, this is exactly the route I chose (using CC2652).

However, this will require manual work (on the GPIO pins) each time SysConfig re-generates its config code. This sort of defeats the purpose of SysConfig.

Understood. This is a current limitation, and I've passed this thread to the development team for consideration.
