Tool/software:

Hi

i am trying to connect the CC2651R BLE soc customized board to flash programmer 2  with the Launch pad CC26X2R1.

but it was not able to detect on the flash programmer, but when I connect with the Smart RF stuido7, its able to connect and send packets as well.

can you please suggest me what's the issue.

I am getting the below error while connected.

Failed to enumerate XBAL devices.

An XDS emulator may have incompatible firmware. See the Help document for troubleshooting.

  • Hi Tejash,

Are you able to provide an image of your connection between the LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1's XDS110 and your custom CC2651R3 board?  Please refer to the LaunchPad User Guide to understand the correct connections, see the "Using the LaunchPad to Debug & Program External Devices" section.  It is important to move the Power Jumper and disconnect the XDS Jumpers accordingly.

Are you able to connect Flash Programmer 2 when using the default LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 configuration such that it communicates with the on-board CC2652R1?  Have you tried to program with Uniflash or Code Composer Studio?

  • Schematic PDF (2).pdf

    Hi,

it's my schematics using the GND,3.3V RXD, TXD,TMS, TCK,TDO, TDI and RST/SWO, RST with the removing the launchpad jumpers.

yes am able to configure with launch pad to CC2652R1, yes with UNI FLASH is also working

  • This appears to be an issue with the Flash Programmer 2 software then.  If Uniflash is working to program your CC2651R3 custom board then I would suggest you use this software instead to fulfill your programming requirements.  You can submit your design to SIMPLELINK-2-4GHZ-DESIGN-REVIEWS if you need it further reviewed.

  • Hi Ryan

we already submitted the design files for the review.

    1. is there any updating to require for the Launchpad of CC26X2R1.

    2. with the same custom board instead of cc2651R we soldered the IC of CC2650 is working with the flash programmer.

    3. with the CC2651R is properly working with the Smart RF Studio.

  • No update is required for the LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 if not instigated by the CCS, Uniflash, or Flash Programmer 2 tools.  Your observations are consistent with an unstable JTAG connection.  Please be sure to use as short of cables as possible and attempt both 2-pin cJTAG and 4-pin JTAG modes to program your device.  You could try using the command line interface (CLI) to determine whether there are any changes to behavior.  There also should be hardware differences between the CC2650 and CC2651R3 platforms.

    Ryan
