SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK: Where is OAD example that uses the BLE5 Stack

Part Number: SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK

I can find the off chip oad example, but it is for the BLE stack, not BLE 5. Where is the sample code? I need to use the BLE 5 stack, is there a migration guide?

I found a minimal version in the old 1.40.xx version of the SDK. I am using the 2.40 version of the sdk, and there is nothing.

Hi Greg,
Due to flash constraints, we do not offer OAD examples for CC2640R2 with BLE5.

So, is there commitment to provide an OAD solution for BLE5? Or is there any change in TI commitment to Bluetooth?

Not on CC2640R2, as the BLE5 implementation introduces flash/ram limitations. If you need both OAD and BLE5, you should migrate to use CC2642 instead.

Can you point to the document that outlines the amount of resources required for the BLE5 stack features. All datasheets says memory usage depends on which stack features you use. I am only interested in using the coded phy.

This being said, you will realize that you cannot compile out BLE5 features in the manner you intend. I reiterate; "we do not offer OAD examples for CC2640R2 with BLE5" due to memory limitations.
