CC2564MODA: QDID for stack

Part Number: CC2564MODA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC256XM4BTBLESW

Hi,

My customer is developing their system with CC2564MODA.

The device(CC2564B) is Bluetooth 4.1 compliant.
But our stack (CC256XM4BTBLESW) is only Bluetooth 4.0 qualified.

Why? Isn’t QDID for 4.1 available?

Thanks and regards,
Koichiro Tashiro

  • The host subsystem (Bluetopia based) is for core spec BT4.2 and is current.  The QDID is 85355 (85355 - Host Subsystem) This is the stack QDID.

The Profiles subsystem was qualified at the same time as the core spec BT4.0.  The QDID is 69886 ( 69886 – Profile Subsystem).  You can find a full list of supported profiles and the current versions by clicking that link.  Design 69886 implements a deprecated specification scheduled to be withdrawn on 2022-02-01. The design cannot be incorporated into new designs, unless the new design complies with a version of the specification that has not been deprecated or withdrawn.   For example, if you look at A2DP (View ICS Details) we are 1.2 compliant, which is still valid even though it isn’t the latest.  Customers that only need A2DP profile v1.2 would be able to pass any qual testing that they want to perform for any core spec version.  If they need A2DP v1.3 due to some new features, then they would need to get that from a 3rd party, like Cloud2gnd.

We don't have any plans to update the profile versions at this time.

    Regards,

    Travis
