CC2640R2F: CC2640r2 works while connected to debugger but not while connected to external power

Thanks very much for the suggestion - as always. Unfortunately adjusting the settings as you suggest did not fix the problem. The really strange bit is that as soon as I reconnect the debugger, and I mean just reconnect the cable - no debugging, downloading, programming, nothing, the device begins to advertise immediately. At this point it is reconnectable and fully functional again. As opposed to when run off external power, it initially advertises and is connectable. When connected to in this states it only shows advertising data, no characteristics or services. Then when I disconnect and refresh the available devices, the CC2640R2 is no longer available (not advertising). As I mentioned, I applied 3.3VDC via the JTAG header and the device exhibits the same behavior as when connected to external power. Could there be something that needs to be terminated on the JTAG signals?

Try to check if RESET pin acts abnormal when you don't connect debugger.

I glanced your Schematic and I don't see CC2640. I observed one IC connected to J4 and it doesn't meet the Pin Mapping of CC2640. How to identify CC2640 from your Schematic?

Hello PM,

We are using a Laird/LSR module that uses the CC2640R2F. You will see this module in the middle of the schematic. Of course you can check the pinout but I'd rather that you not spend your time there. We've used this module in the past and find our implementation to work well. Rather I'd like for you to look at the implementation of the  TI TSP62740 regulator the TI CSD16301 MOSFET we've not used either of these parts before. As for the JTAG connector, you'll just have to take my word for it that it's wired correctly (famous last words).

Yes, that was a typo - sorry about that. I meant to say that I supplied 3.3VDC to JTAG header pin 1 (not 10).

BIM hex, Stack hex, App bin exhibits the same problem - cannot run off non-connected debugger. When connected to external batteries, the device advertises and is connectable as expected. Then I disconnect. LightBlue updates and shows the device advertising. When I try to connect again, I only see the advertisement info and the device is not connectable. I then disconnect and LightBlue updates again, but the device is no longer advertising.

Any other thoughts on this?

I thought that I had resolved this issue after reviewing the documents suggested in this post and making a couple of change. Unfortunately I was deluded. I did not fix the problem. By the time I realized that the problem remained, I could no longer post to the original thread. So, I started a new one using the "I have a similar question."
